YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYES if ten million fireflies lit up THE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP
It was dark as Roux strutted through the dark forest of which she did not know the name of. Her hips swayed lightly as she walked, her fluffy red tail waving like a proud flag behind her. Bright green orbs visible even in the dark - they practically glowed - glanced around, seeing everything in perfect vision. Easily, she dodged the trees and green undergrowth, regardless of the shadows that covered the land. The sun had gone down long ago, leaving the temperatures a bit chillier than they had been during the day. They weren't cold and Roux felt perfect in the shadows. Usually, she wouldn't be up, but for now, she was trying once again to find Clerval, her delicate slightly older brother.
Though you wouldn't be able to see it from the outside, with the way that she strutted so proudly and confidently, on the inside she was having a tiny mental breakdown. Memories of her father's brutal death was rushing over her. They were terrible memories. The strongest of them all was looking over his dead body, bloodied and torn, after watching the rogues leave. She had tried so hard to tell him to get up, tell him that she loved him, tell him that they needed him. He wouldn't move, however, and Roux was forced to take both herself and Clerval away from the body. And when she thought about her father, she instantly was reminded of the painful memories of her mother and how hard she worked to try to save her life. It was unbelievably painful to watch her family pass away and even more painful to see Clerval react so terribly to it. It made her cuts even deeper and often made her even grouchier, something any wolf within a mile radius should worry about.
Roux continued to walk through the forest, her eyes raising to the sky as the trees faded away behind her and the land opened up to reveal a beautiful moonlit meadow. Her bright green gaze took in the serene sight of the stars lighting up the sky, dotting like polka dots around the black abyss. Suddenly, her body collided with something hard, making the breath whoosh from Roux's body. Her legs nearly collapsed from under her, making her dip down before staggering backwards, her bright green eyes trying to focus in on what it is she hit. Before she could see what it was exactly, she crouched down, her tail rising along with her hackles. A low growl escaped her mouth as she tried once more to see what exactly she ran into.

Walking "Talking" Thinking [/i] A lone figure rose from the ground, a small white ghost in a darkening world. His pale eyes were like clear blue water, and he glanced about as if at any moment someone may catch him in the act of... something. Whatever it was that someone might think he shouldn't do. Breathe, maybe? That was a common enough offence on his part. It seemed like everyone was just out to yell at him. And of course poke fun, that happened often enough as well. The young lupine shivered at these thoughts. He was like a frail little leaf that way sometimes. Why he was alive was a combination of luck, quick thinking, and whatever else he might wish to credit.
He raised his head high. Time to go out to yet another 'day' in his world. It didn't matter if he was told to adjust to the light, because not only was the world so much friendlier at night, but he frankly did better in it without considering the fact of chancing on other wolves. Sunlight wasn't really his friend most times. But, what did one expect of a little albino? He sighed, shaking his head slightly before beginning to walk. High expectations were annoying at best, and he didn't much care for having to try and please others anyways. Maybe it was the prolonged isolation, but most times he felt rather antisocial. He pondered whether or not he was going to meet up with someone new anytime soon. Oh, what a dreadful idea. He didn't much care for the idea of having to talk to anyone. But, such was life and he may as well give up on the hiding from everyone. He might be tiny compared to most wolves, but he wasn't totally defenseless either. Time to embrace it. You have to learn someday.[/i]
His paws hit the forest floor so softly, that with the addition of the pine needles, he was practically silent as he walked. A soundless phantom in the night. Forgotten like one, too. Wasn't like he had a family to go to. He didn't know where they might be, anyways. They scattered when he was even smaller, and he no longer held onto the hope that maybe he could find at least one litter mate. If they died, they died. It was long enough ago now that his memories of the beginning of his life were starting to fade away. But you can't miss what was never there for you in the first place. The lot had been cowardly, and now he was growing up the same way! Well, he would change it eventually, right? The world would not allow him to hide away forever. Though, he would like to do so anyways. Why was he here then? Anoki hadn't a clue as to why, but he may as well explore. He could go back to his usual hiding place anytime, right? It wasn't too terribly far away.
His mind had been so terribly soaked up in his own thoughts that he had no idea another wolf was approaching. His ears flicked, catching the sound of paw-steps only just before he collided with something. No, someone. The breath was shoved from his lungs, leaving him feeling like a bubble suddenly burst open. The force of their collision had sent the other wolf falling, and he did as well, one moment standing and the next sprawled out on the ground. He tried to say something to the other wolf, but he lacked the breath to do it with. He heard the other one moving to sit up and his heart rate quickened. It took no more provocation, the fear alone made him instinctively flick his tail forcefully at them. It wasn't the tail itself that was meant to protect him, but the quills which he flung in the direction of whoever had smacked into him. It was reflexive to do that, but he instantly felt another pang of fear. He didn't even know who that was, and yet he had just sent quills flying at them?!
Instantly the regret of his stupid move overwhelmed him. What did he just do? Well, for one potentially injured a stranger who did no more than scare the crap out of him... But who the heck would be wandering around this late that wasn't him? They ought to look where they were going! He cringed as he ran over potential responses the wolf might have to this, going through several in the span of a second. Now he felt terrible, and he didn't even know if he should! He sat up, staring towards what must be the other wolf. His night vision wasn't perfect, but he could see better at night than most. He knew the fur of this wolf was a rusty red color. He lowered his head, looking stricken as he quickly said,"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!!!" Word count: 851 Tagged: KAT! YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYES if ten million fireflies lit up THE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP
Finally, Roux's stunningly glowing green eyes caught sight of what she had ran into - a small wolf. His fur was pure white - not an off-white, but the white of freshly fallen snow in those stupid winters. On his muzzle were rings of light blue and they repeated on his tail. The markings on the male's back was merely a light blue stripe, running just over his spine. Even in the dark, Roux's eyesight was good and the moonlight helped light up the world around her. Crouched low, a low grow escaped her throat, the vibrations in her throat causing a strange noise to reach her ears. Her eyes watched as the male pulled his tail out from behind him, as if to cover himself and block him from whatever Roux was about to throw at him. But when she saw what was really there, her eyes widened.
What appeared to be quills, as if he was a porcupine, soared through the air towards her face. It's a good thing they missed her eyes, but just barely. One landed at her forehead, sticking into the skin. Another landed on her cheek and another to the left of that one. For a moment, Roux was silent, the growl in her throat stopping in its tracks. Then, her muzzle opened wide and she let out a whine. This wasn't just any whine, it was a cry - a long and drawn out cry. "Whaaaa! Ahhhhhhh!" she shied away from the smaller male instantly, turning her face away from him and his vicious tail. The pain in her face was sharp and intense, though she was probably making a much bigger deal out of it then it should have been. Her eyes were watery and she was still whining.
She almost missed the words that escaped the young wolf's mouth. As if she cared what he had to say! ... As if she knew what he was saying. The red French wolf shook her head away from him, knowing that she was going to have to get these quills out from her face. Would they cause infection? Did they inject some kind of poison into her blood? Another whine escaped her throat before she growled to the other wolf. "Ow, ce qui était que, pour!?" she cried, refusing to look the other in the eye. She felt like going over and whacking him upside the head, but she knew that she couldn't do that, and wouldn't do that. The pain in her face was so 'unbearable' that she wouldn't move. Grumbling, she shied away from the wolf, collapsing to the ground dramatically, as if shying away from her attacker.

Walking "Talking" Thinking [/i]
His bright blue eyes widened as he watched this other wolf. She had been growling at him for a while, but apparently his aim wasn't bad because it suddenly stopped. A whole second ticked by before suddenly a long cry erupted from her throat. He pinned his ears and scrambled back a few steps, as if this meant she might attack him now. Actually he hadn't a clue what this one would do, but better to be safe, right? He watched as she turned away, and suddenly felt much worse. Obviously if she was going to behave like the world was ending, he had hit someone that wasn't going to threaten him. That was the thing that always made his guts feel twisted up. He didn't mean to hit her like that! It was just that when you scare someone, you best be prepared to find out how they defend themselves. He was used to being attacked by most, so why shouldn't he have assumed that he was in danger? He usually was.
He shrunk back further as she continued to whine. Don't you dare cry. You weren't the one hit with quills![/i] but his thoughts did little good. He could feel his eyes prickle, sort of stinging the way they always did before tears emerged. He shook slightly as she began to speak. But... He had no idea what she was saying. Her words were foreign to him. Apparently she was a wolf of another language. Well that sure made apologizing a bit difficult, didn't it? He frowned a bit, trying to think of what she meant. It was a response to being whacked in the face with quill, that much was all too clear, but exactly what she meant wasn't so clear at all. Gah, what did he get himself into? NEXT TIME RUN AWAY, MORON![/i] It was about the only thought that made sense, too. And yet another reason why he wanted to stay away from everyone. He always caused trouble for himself. Suddenly the red wolf slumped to the ground with a dramatic thud. She didn't look at him, and her body language told him plenty. She was either holding a terribly big grudge against him, or was over dramatizing the whole thing. He guessed the second, but it didn't make him feel any better. He lowered him head some, as if the shame were building up, pushing his small body down. Again came the prickly of tears trying to escape, and he mumbled softly, with the regret shining plainly in his eyes, "I-I'm really sorry. I can get those out for you, if you let me." It was his feeble attempt at reconciling with her, and though he didn't think she would understand, perhaps eventually she might catch his meaning. He wouldn't want to have her stay all mad at him, but then again, he didn't know her. But just because he was small and somewhat antisocial, didn't mean he didn't want to make friends. It was just that apparently he was pretty bad at that. [/color] Word count: 509 Tagged: KAT!
