Asha looked at the brown male for an answer to her plea, and saw that he was obviously considering it. That made Asha start to feel hopeful. She felt closer to Sermon, and liked him for more than one reason. Plus, if he was with her there was a good chance that the Zsar wouldn't follow her for any reason, knowing that the other male was with her. Then Tsuz offered them both a place in his pack.
Asha already knew that she didn't belong in the white male's pack, nor did she want to join it. However, she could see by the look in Sermon's eyes that he was considering it. Her heart sank. If Sermon joined Tsuz’s pack then she would never see him again, and Asha couldn’t stand the sound of that for some reason. Slowly, she started to walk away sadly. That’s when she heard the brown wolf politely turn the white male down, and come after her.
Asha’s heart flew again as Sermon fell into step beside her, apologizing for taking so long. She almost didn’t hear him, she was so happy. Then it hit her, she now had a friend.
