//. It didn't feel like spring. Clouds had enveloped the sun, and despite the constant barrier of surrounding trees wind was still slicing through Pyro's ever-thinning winter coat. A light sheet of rain had been pouring down through the canopy of trees which he resided under on and off the whole time Pyro had been there on the edge of the valley, making him and everything else around him soaked.
Soon, he thought. I need to find a pack to claim soon The constant vigilance which was needed while a loner wasn't hard for Pyro, but at times it could get very tiresome, and even the most antisocial wolves can get lonely sometimes. Especially when you have't talked to anyone for at least 7 nights. //. Pyro sat there, weighing his options. He could keep going, trekking through the steady drizzle of rain, or he could stop, try and let his body rest in the cover of the trees. From where he was he could see much of the valley, but he knew that this still wasn't the safest places, although he couldn't smell any fresh wolf scents, they were still there, and he knew that even though there hadn't been wolves here for a while there was still a possibility. No, he decided to keep on moving. //. As Pyro stood muscles rippled, and his broad chest and wide set shoulders showed how powerful he was. Almost black eyes scanned the area around him, and sniffed the air. Still nothing. After another moment the russet wolf trotted along the outskirts of the woods, making his way through the valley. He didn't like the feeling of being so low, he liked being up on higher ground much more; He didn't feel trapped, or like he couldn't see anything from there. This made his long legs take faster and wider strides. Not soon after he started moving, though, and he smelt something. It was down wind of him, the smell of meat. But not something that could be considered a threat, it was prey. Slowly Pyro went deeper in the forest, his tread nothing but a whisper on the pine needle littered ground. It wasn't long before he saw it; a rather plump grey rabbit. Within seconds it was his. Quickly he went back to the first place he resided. He knew he should be watching, should be making sure there wasn't another predator out there, but he couldn't he hadn't eaten in weeks. This was probably one of the only times he had made such a big mistake. [/blockquote]

Miss Victoria Squish. Her eye narrowed at the mud that was begining to envelop the once hard ground. Rain was the culprit and at present it was coming down in a steady shower. Vi did not consider herself to be the type to cringe at a little water, but this had been going for a while and even she had a limit as to how much she could stand. Such inauspicious weather could dampen anyone's mood eventually.
Her legs carried her aimlessly, searching for something. Perhaps Someone. Victoria didn't get lonely, seeing as being social, much less the type of wolf others could stand, was something she found quite difficult. BUt she knew how to act, and she did act well. Right now her conscern was something even she couldn't figure out. She was not having a particular craving for company, but Victoria did want to find someone, anyone at all. Perhaps life had simply been too dull for her, and now she needed somethin to do, someone to occupy her time.
Of course it didn't take long for her to be absolutly soaked to the skin and surprisingly she found it hard not to feel the slightest bit... Miserable. Her raven black pelt was heavy with the extra weight water put onto her. Her dark eyes searched the valley for a sign of life, someone else who might at least suggest a sheltered area. Gah, she may as well find something herself at this point. Hours of wandering just weren't as appealing as one might think them.
Then it hit her. Dark audits perked up instantly as the female breathed in the scent of another. A brute for that matter. She forgot her terrible mood and struck up a quicker pace, wondering just who this stranger might be. Someone to talk with? Or one of those who made her their enemy? She wasn't sure what to expect, but when Victoria spotted him she stopped in her tracks. Careful. Her eyes danced across his frame, taking in the well built male with the reddish brown fur. He had a dark patch over his eye that almost made him look like he had no eye there at all. Maybe this one would be interesting.
Admitedly she thought nothing spectacular of him, having seen males who made intimidation their game and her a peice they tried to control. He didn't look horribly dangerous, but she wouldn't be caught underestimating anyone. After all, she was rarely given much of a chance by others, though it was mostly her habit of keeping others from liking her.
Her dark legs brought her forward, further into his line of site. She noticed now that he was quite lost in the process of devouring a freshly killed rabbit. No matter, he couldn't help but notice her, and Victoria had plenty of patience. Unless he was the type to ignore her until he felt good and ready to acknowledge her presence. Now that might get on her nerves. She frowned ever so slightly, sitting down and looking at him with a careful expression. He seemed allright. Well, she was delaying the inevitable by not bothering to speak. Ah, who was she kidding, Vi hadn't spoken to anyone in some time and she was not going to make a fool of herself by saying something stupid. She would let him speak.

//. It tasted so good. The meat was still slightly warm, and the juices from it exploded in his mouth. He sighed. It had been so long since he had had a good meal. It wasn't long before the rabbit was gone, he had barely even tasted it after the first bite. He sat back, so blissfully please with himself. It was the first time he had actually been truly happy with himself in a long time. He was so happy it took him longer then it should have for him to notice the ebony wolf sitting just close enough for him to distinguished the features of the lupine. The first thing that hit him was that it was a femme. The second thing was that she probably wasn't an immediate threat. If she was she probably would have tried attacking him by now. She could have been there for who knows how long. He smirked slightly. He didn't really know who she was, but he wasn't going to turn down any offer to talk to another wolf. Especially one that put of that sort of air. Still, he could never be too careful, especially around a stranger in a strange land, especially since this one seemed to know where she was. He didn't.
//. Slowly Pyro stood, and slowly walked towards her. Not close enough for her to pounce, but close enough for him to get a better look.
"Didn't your parents ever tell you not to stare?" His voice was slightly mocking, like he was implying that maybe she was staring at him. The sarcasm was evident, though, and he obviously didn't expect a literate answer. His ears twitched, one surveying for other sounds, the other trained on her, waiting for her response. He wondered what she would be like. Would she be crazy? Shy, funny, annoying, would they become enemies, friends. He really didn't care. The fact that this was only a game to him may be too sadistic for some, but really it was all about the endgame, and this had nothing to do with it. She was simply just someone to keep him company while he planned his next move. Before he decided to roll the dice to take his turn.
//. With a flick of his eyes he looked over her. She was rather tall, at least he thought she was from her build, though he couldn't really tell. She was mostly black, but her eyes were most peculiar. That was the first thing he saw when he noticed another wolf. He usually remembered them by their eyes. She had brown eyes, but in those eyes there were green flecks. Unique. He was staring at those eyes. Not necessarily to read her, but just studying the eyes. It was only for a moment though, and then he was done. Contemplating his next move, and waiting for hers. "Whats your name?" He said it as an afterthought, with more of a wistful tone. Not because he wanted anything about her, but more because he was still in a daydream, still lost in his own mind. He smiled slightly, over a distant memory maybe. Then he was shot back into reality. And once again he was ready for an answer.

Miss Victoria Okay, let's go then.
Well, at least she wasn't kept waiting on him. One thing Victoria did not do was work on any one else's clock. He spoke to her in a mocking voice, something that made her pause "Didn't your parents ever tell you not to stare?" Well, she had never liked her parents much for one thing, and for another she was simply sizing him up. Potential threats or enemies should not be taken too lightly, a mistake she could see this fool making if he wasn't careful. Besides, it was her job to mock the words of others what the mood struck her. And she was real good at it too. Why, the mood just might strike her real soon.
What was he thinking? If she had to guess, she would think he was doing the same thing she was. Wondering about this new stranger. Who was he? She knew from the haughty air in his voice he though quite highly of himself at least to a point. To some that might be annoying, or even make them angry. But Victoria wasn't like most. She found his actions entertaining, and for some reason she didn't much mind. Her moods changed a lot, and right now she felt like she was the girl who was going to stick around and learn what she could learn. It might be worth making him a friend, or even ally. She wouldn't be too off put by him.
Victoria didn't bother to stop herself from rolling her eyes at him though. Okay, so she did find his attitude ever so slightly irksome. But it wasn't her fault. It was her nature to be the one acting rude, almost tactless that way. Yeah, she wouldn't let that be taken terribly light, "Why they did in fact. I suppose I'm just not that good at doing what I'm told. What a shame." Vi murmured in a voice that was only just audible. For the first whole sentence her voice sounded very much like his had, before seamlessly switching to the lighter melody of her own. Sometimes she liked to use the voices of others she had met. It was so funny when she did and then the other met the wolf who really owned that voice. But she didn't feel like doing such a thing. He was amusing enough without having to do such a thing.
She watched him as he quickly, almost not at all, looked her over. Indeed her looks were different, matching those of the bird which was her nickname. Her dark eyes, surrounded by a mask that was even darker, blinked at him. His eyes nearly matched hers, but they were so much darker. To the point that she wondered just how few shades they were away from black. Wait, where was her head? Her lip curled ever so slightly at the distraction, but quickly, almost not noticeable. Even she could put two and two together watching her own folly.
She almost was caught by surprise when he interjected a question, "Whats your name?" It was like something you say at the last moment. Very much like, and actually was. So now he wanted to know? Well then. She supposed she wouldn't get too terribly annoyed at him, even if she did want to. She may as well answer, if only to get an answer from him in return. Names were interesting. Often they told a lot about who you were dealing with, and she guessed he wouldn't really be an exception to that. Her own name was one she found quite fitting, "I'm Victoria. And you?" Apparently she wasn't too terribly talkative today. Too bad.

//. Pyro almost wanted to laugh. To smile at this. This femme was so much like him it was hilarious, the odds of finding someone like him were very slim, and the fact that he had was actually quite unnerving. The twitch of a smile curled at his ebony lips, but it was just for an instance, and then it was back to the placid expression he kept. Hopefully her patience was better then his though. At this point they would be fighting in minutes of the introduction. He could tell just by the way she was looking at him. It wouldn't be surprising if they clashed, but maybe it could be a good thing. At the moment he couldn't decide whether he wanted anyone's help, so the thought of this wasn't kindly taken.
//. As her voice broke the silence that was between him he became even more alert. Not alarm, nor confusion swept across his face, but there was something there, an emotion that maybe meant he was slightly taken off guard. This was because her voice mimicked his own. Or, at least he thought it did. It sounded a bit different in his ears coming from somebody else, almost like he was listening to a recording. Soon though, her voice changed to what he guessed to be her own. He knew it; she had the same type of mocking in her voice, and everything about her spoke of sarcasm, and maybe even a bit of a bitch. This rubbed him the wrong way, but since the small breakthrough of emotion about the voices he has been careful to keep his face in a rather arrogant state. The way he stood held that, too. His chest sightly out, making him look broader, taller, and much more intimidating. Not because he felt like scaring her, or to prove anything. He was already big enough to do that to many. No this just showed his confidence.
//. Sometimes he'd act like he cared about nothing, or other times he'd be overly arrogant like just now. It was fun for them to judge him, to make them think they figured him out. He didn't necessarily think this would work with her, but it fell into his rhythm of ways that it was almost unstoppable. He didn't think he had truly been himself around anyone in a long, long while, but that was okay with him. Being himself around people usually led to blood baths and allies turning to enemies. Once again she spoke, answering his second question. Victoria. That was her's. It almost fit her personality, but there was something there that just didn't go with it, but right then he really didn't know.
"Victoria, eh?"He smirked slightly. "Pyro." He wondered what her reaction would be. Not many had the name Pyro where he came from, but maybe here it was more common. He really doubted it, though. "So what brings you here on this fine day?" Again, soaked in sarcasm, a bit of mocking. Not at her this time, at the fact that really, it was anything but fine.

Miss Victoria
She watched him closely, trying to catch any hints his expressions may give her. Of course she couldn't be sure, but she thought she saw the ever so slightest curve to his lips for a moment, signaling a smile had traced itself over his maw. Interesting. What he had to smile about was quite beyond her at the moment. Then again, maybe where he came from being in the rain with some random wolf was enough cause to make him do such a thing. But it was gone in a second and she highly doubted he was the type to go around smiling at just anything at all. Whatever it was that caused it may as well remain a mystery, after all Victoria didn't bother with things like playing detective.
Of course, just looking at this male as his posture changed the smallest bit, she wondered whether or not she wanted to stick around. He looked arrogant, the way he stood with his chest puffed out just enough that she noticed easily enough. Not even on a particularly odd day did Vi think very highly of herself. Not like that. But of course, she had her own reasons for the things she did. And no one needed to know them either. So she may as well find out about this male before she went and judged him. Not that she had ever been given the same courtesy. She didn't want it. She was what she was, screw anyone else's thoughts on the matter. Victoria could come across any way she wanted, that had been proven by years of practice at manipulation and acting around others. She chose this.
Her ears flicked back a moment when he spoke again,"Victoria, eh?" Yes. What need be there to ponder? Well, she had to admit that she had puzzled some over just what he may be called, but she occasionally over processed information too. Habit. She took whatever she got out of someone and squeezed it for as much meaning as it may hold. For instance, the way he spoke now. It held a tint of the arrogance she had seen in him a minute ago. And his smirk tried confirming it. Of course, she was not a fool. The similarity between them had not gone unnoticed for a second. That was why she doubted ever putting her full trust in this male would be a bright idea. She knew herself, and if she were someone else she would not trust her one bit, no matter how she acted. Because Victoria liked acting and deceiving, so why would he be too terribly different in that respect? Perhaps she was judging him, but she would call it an educated guess for now.
Of course she doubted any amount of wondering could have helped her come up with his name. It was different from a lot she had heard. And oddly suited him, "Pyro." It seemed like the name may be as flammable as his steaming display of arrogance. Not that she found him too disagreeable. Her patience with others, especially those who acted like him, was thus far unmatched. Even if he tried to anger her, she made a habit of not doing what others would like her to do. "So what brings you here on this fine day?" Yes, maybe he did act an awful lot like she often did. But it was sort of funny in a way. Even if she wasn't advertising her amusement, it was there, plain as day if you knew how to look at her for signs.
His sarcasm was of a different brand from hers. She tended to use it for bitter replies meant to keep others at a nice distance, but he was openly mocking for whatever reason he may have. She gave him a smirk of her own, looking around at the rain that was all around, making dirt into mud and giving the plants something to possibly be happy about. She might not love rain all the time, but sometimes it was fine. As a pup she hadn't minded it at all, but that wasn't now. Not important, "Oh, well I was just looking to get drenched and maybe run into someone along the way." For once her reply didn't sound at all sarcastic, but it was obviously meant to be the opposite of sincere. She grinned at her own reply, letting through one of the few emotions she would randomly let loose. It was a mix of entertainment, and something just plain weird. She could get a sense of joy out of the strangest moments and she honestly didn't care about anyone's opinion. Him least of all right now, being someone she only just met, he didn't matter much yet. Maybe he would, but for now not at all, "Of course, it could have been that aimlessly wandering is fun, or maybe I have no reason to be here at all. Take your pick. And what made your paws carry you here?"

//. Pyro sighed, this was getting boring. No action, drama, humor, or really anything. They were having a normal conversation. Of course, there was nothing wrong with normal, but Pyro really wasn't normal, and he was getting slightly uncomfortable with the fact that he was acting it. He'd never played the role of normality, it was much too boring. Nevertheless he continued on with his self-righteous and arrogant act. He could tell she was starting to listen to the lies his body language spoke. The annoyance wasn't exactly plain on her face, but it was still there. More prominent, though, was the amusement she felt towards him. The fact that he, an arrogant sexist pig, would underestimate her? It made her laugh. In reality, though, Pyro wasn't doing that, but lies are fun to tell.
//. He let his eyes get distant, not exactly in wonderland, but as if not really caring what her answer was. It was all an act, he was actually quite interested in what her scathing sarcasm-dipped answer would be. At least, he picture it would be harsh and sarcastic. She just put off that kind of vibe. Maybe he was underestimating her in that matter, but he couldn't really stop himself, just like she was taking his attitude as arrogance. As manipulative as he was, he didn't know if his masterpiece of beautifully spun lies would work on her. He didn't really know why, there was nothing there that should give him a warning, but there was just something there that made him be careful about how correct the lies would be when he told them. He smirked slightly, still almost looking straight through her. He'd meant it as amusement, towards himself, but it came off as taunting, mocking, and maybe, just maybe a slight bit of charm.
//. Her words weren't as cutting as he'd thought they'd be, it was more of a playful jab. He decided he'd throw on a bit more charm, just to see what kind of girl she was. Would she flirt with him, or try to kick his ass? Either way it was still something more then just a dull conversation.
"And when you, ah, decided to go for a little walk, did you plan on talking to this wolf, or just annoy them and walk on by? Because really, I wouldn't mind a little chat.."[ It wasn't sarcasm this time. It was more charming. His voice wasn't quite warm, but it was cold like before. A bit of a smile, still having that touch of sarcasm was there after the sentence. It was only for a fleeting moment, but it was his smile. It made most of the girls fall for him, if not at least soften up.
//. When her question was stated he really almost wanted to answer truthfully, maybe, just for once. But he didn't. It wasn't worth it. Instead he spoke with the sarcasm once more, with a dash of charm sprinkled on top. A perfect recipe for disaster. " Just enjoying the weather on this beautiful day." The rain was starting to pick up, the slow drizzle was quickening, and coming down harder. He flicked his ears, trying to get some of the water off of them before resuming his stance before she had spoken, unobservant over the fact that she was there. It usually ticked others off, to go completely unnoticed while in front of their nose.[/blockquote]

Miss Victoria Yeah, he's funny. Not.
Had she been in possession of some visible eyebrows, one surely would have arched as she watched Pyro. He had seemingly drifted away into his own world. Of course, whether or not she believed he had really not paid attention was yet to be determined. He seemed like he type to take her own fancy for acting to a totally different level. At least, she figured that if half the males she had met in her lifetime were any good at acting, they would use it freely as she tended to on boring days. So, it was decided then. Victoria would not trust him as far as she could throw him until she had a damn good reason not to. Besides, things like trust never came from her in a manner that was in any way sincere. She just didn't have it in her more often than not. Besides, it took more than a cocky smirk with a hint of charm behind it to bring down even part of her defenses. Of course she'd caught that.
Victoria would never, ever in her life admit to being caught off guard. Not once had she before and it sure wouldn't happen anytime soon. But she did tilt her head to the right as she listened to what he said, "And when you, ah, decided to go for a little walk, did you plan on talking to this wolf, or just annoy them and walk on by? Because really, I wouldn't mind a little chat.." Now at first the only thing she noticed was the flirtatiousness in those words. Well, that and the ever so slightest of insults buried in it all. Not that it would have much affect. Petty insults and the like weren't even close to the thing that could bring her down. If fact, Victoria had never explored the depths of any potential weaknesses she may have, though she knew she had plenty depending on who she was with. But that kind of thinking was best saved for an off day. One where she was less than cheerful. Back to her point, if she even had one.
Ah, it was this. He was really getting audacious. It was funny really. But concerning. She had no idea what it would take for him to get her to crack in some way, but she didn't need the pleasure of finding out. She thought this with a venomous sarcasm. Even if he couldn't hear it, she found the words in her own mind calming. Yes, Victoria was a strange one, but she liked it that way too. And she sure didn't need this one worming his way into her life. Sure, she found him funny as all get out in a weird, possibly disturbing sort of way, but so far she had yet to really see his value, and thus he was not important. Not something to care about. She wasn't one of the little Faes who fell for every charming wolf in sight. Hah, he would have to try harder and think more like her to get even a little chance.
The smile. It didn't help. Yes, she did recognize his skill at acting like a charming guy, but she wasn't just any wolf to be fooled by such crap. He wasn't anymore the creature he seemed than she was. Sure, she could be taking him for more of a fool than he was, but at this rate maybe he didn't even realize what she had. Then again, her perspective was very different from his, and most. And with that she had a decision to make. She figured he was to answer soon, and so this must be quick enough for it. What she was pondering now was exactly how to act now. She could be herself. Her untainted, not exactly pleasant to be around, dark, and most likely a bit mad self. Yeah, that wasn't going to happen. While he was a bit annoying every so often, she didn't want to end their conversation just yet. And she would bet that unleashing the less contained Victoria could be a great way to do that. Ah, she knew.
Now, as she heard the first syllables of his reply, her entire demeanor went through a drastic change. No reason to let this get too dull. This part of her, the part who was being used for her acting, was insanely calm. That was the fun in being Victoria; her acting had developed into many selves who were all still her. And her occasionally(okay, quite frequent) mood swings meant that she was rarely the same for a whole conversation. Now, she wasn't the sarcastic, absolutely bitter creature she had been. She was a calm, almost open sort, who was brutally honest to the point her words were the exact thoughts that ran through her head. Say hello to change, Sir.
When she heard his reply to her question, a look of pure amusement flowed over her face. " Just enjoying the weather on this beautiful day." Yeah, and she was sitting in a dry cave being cheerful. Meaning she didn't believe it and knew the sarcasm in his voice. Unlike before, she let her entertainment unfold plainly for him to see. Time for her to do what she did best. Mix things up as much as possible. Of course her guard wasn't all down, but she didn't bother hiding anything he could find himself. It was too fun. Though her idea of fun was a bit weird. "Oh, well that's just so nice for you. Really, I feel this sense of pride at your accomplishing the impossible." Even if he took that as sarcastic, it was more a mix of that and pure unchanged thoughts spilling out of her mouth.
As the rain picked up, she had to say things had become a bit less... Comfortable? Mainly because anything that may have been dry under her paws was now turning to nothing but squishy much. Greeeat. Because that was all she needed in life. Blinking away drops of liquid that tried to attack her dark eyes, she turned her attention back to the seemingly gone Pyro. He was... Well, she didn't quite know how to describe the brute standing before her. His build matched hers in a way, save that he was more muscular. By comparison Vi was a lot more slender. She had yet to decide for sure if she liked him. Her mind kept changing, and while their talk had been fun, she had no real reason to lean either way. But her tolerance of his attitude was probably a lot higher than most. smirking at her own constantly shifting thoughts, she spoke up again, not caring if he ignored her or not, "Well then, as much as you seem to enjoy this beautiful day, I suppose I'll be a dear and ask you something. Would you like to get the hell out of this downpour and have our, take our talking to somewhere... dry? Because as nice as my coat looks plastered to me and drenched, I'm, told I look a heck of a lot better dry, and I figure same goes for you." Her response to his earlier charm and flirtation should be quite clear. It was there, but she wasn't being sucked into anything unless it was on her own terms. Like now.

//. In Pyro's opinion, one of the funniest entertainments out there was watching someone else not get the joke. He had thought that by now she would have caught on. His moods, while consistent with one another, still swung from happiness to sadness with no visible pattern. Then again, Pyro wasn't going to try to take credit away from the fact that he was an amazing actor. If needed he could quite easily mold a face to his liking, put it on and play the role. However, this was not one of those masks he spent time thinking up and making sure there were no holes to see through. This was a sloppy, easily read, yet colorful lie. It wasn't anything special, but then again, maybe he had misjudged her intelligence. He let a visible smirk cross his maw. He didn't really feel like being arrogant anymore... Maybe he should let that facade slip and change it up a bit. It would have to be subtle, he'd have to ease into it, but at the moment he really didn't care if she caught him in the act of lying. It would only add more drama, action, and possible fighting.
//. After a moments thought he had finally decide on one subtle mood swing that would change ever so slightly every few minutes. He let himself relax just slightly, and for a while he paid attention to her, but seemingly got bored and flicked his eyes to his surroundings. While he did this he made sure he kept her in sight, all though he wasn't directly looking at her. Of course if she were to look hard enough she would be able to see his plastered on face, but the seams were so well hidden it would be hard. The only risky part about this was changing moods. After that he was quite certain there would be no way she'd figure out what he was doing. He almost wished she would figure out what was going on. It would make things so much more fun. However, he doubted she would. Not after the sentence she had just now spoke. One step behind, she was. Maybe it would be entertaining just like this, anyways.
//. It didn't take long before he slipped into the next stage of his little act. It was funny how he took things, almost like a TV show, with scenes and such. If there were TV shows and movies Pyro would've been the star of it all. Very subtly and almost completely unnoticeable he slipped off into a state of thought for just a little bit. If it wasn't obvious already, he planned on making himself seem nonchalant. A calm demeanor, finally excepting the fact that maybe she was on the same level as him. Yeah right. She wasn't, but making her think that would possibly get this show moving.
"I suppose we could... Where is it exactly you'd like to go? Farther into the forest? Though I doubt even the canopy of leaves in the thickest part of this forest could keep this rain pour off of us." He said quietly, just barely audible over the downpour. It seemed he was deep in thought, possibly having a war with himself. Should he be kind to this female, or shall he shun her and continue on his way? Finally after seemingly coming to a decision he looked her straight in the eye, it was obvious he had accepted her into the category of possible ally. More importantly he had seemingly accepted her into the category where maybe he could be himself. At least, that was what was on his face, very convincing too. That's how she should read it. If only any of it were true.

Miss Victoria Liar, liar, Pyro's lucky he ain't on fire
With a bat of her lashes Vi let her thoughts wander a bit, while keeping an eye this Pyro as well. Her opinion of him was still in the process of forming, changing with every word they exchanged. She allowed her dark gaze to fall on the rain. She hadn't noticed, being too rapped up in this conversation, but the temperature was falling a bit. Her breath had become somewhat visible now, whisps of it floating away from her. Just for a half a second she had let her gaurd slip. Watching the warm air she exhaled float away from her evoked memories she prefered to keep out of her head.
But a moment later she was back. More focused now. Sometimes she thought something was wrong the way she could lose and gain focus at a moments notice. Oh well, Victoria was not one to care about such things. Sometimes she didn't care about herself, but that was a face best hidden. Now was the time to keep her mind on Pyro. No matter the fact they had been introduced so far, he was no less a stranger. Which meant he was either a friend or foe. Time to find out then.
Now that she had the rest of her attention gathered, she set to work picking him appart like the bother he had become. His eyes, that much darker than he own, seemed to be holding onto something. A secret? Oh, it was the shiny object to her bird like part of her mind. What was he thinking? Vi had never deeply considered the advantages of reading minds, but she could see the value now. The smirk on his face just made her temper want to flare. Thought she was amusing, did he? Well, that just wasn't something she liked at all. Boy ought to watch himself.
It didn't take long before she heard him voice a reply, "I suppose we could... Where is it exactly you'd like to go? Farther into the forest? Though I doubt even the canopy of leaves in the thickest part of this forest could keep this rain pour off of us." It took a lot for her not to roll her eyes at him. That was saying something too, considering Victoria could be the picture of control when she put her mind to it. Looking hard at him, and not bothering to hide it all that much, she found something. Considering how they were alike, she shouldn't have been surprised at what little she could find. He was good, and obviously practiced at slipping on faces. That much she could gather from their first moments, something he couldn't undo. But she was in the dark so far as his intentions, and what was and was not his act were conscerned. But she was onto him. Just a step and a half behind. But getting closer.
Frowning, she watched as he seemed to have gone into that distant state again. My my, that could get annoying. She viewed it as a crutch. He would have to up his game. Because females were not made to ignore. So long as he was here she would try and pull him apart at the seams. Or he could give her a reason not to. Either way she was still very intrested by what his story could be. But Whatever happened it could only be useful.
She let an open, ever daring smile slide into place over her maw, "Oh, ye of little faith." The words not only referee to her ability to find a dry place, but to the unspoken fact that she knew full well he was messing with her and that she didn't plan to let him go unnoticed in that. "I promise you it won't take too long to find something. She didn't know if she was being too pushy, but she figured she could get off. That or she would be practicing her fighting tactics soon. No biggie when your most likely mad. She watched him a second before stepping away, taking her eyes off him and setting out at a quick pace. Choices are to be made quickly. She was moving out of his range fast enough anyways. So choice time had rolled around. He could stay and be drenched, attack her for her boldness, leave, or some other course of action. She didn't care to ponder, just walk.
She listened for pawstsps for a moment before not bothering. Even if this fool wanted to be wet and away from her, Vi was close to fed up with the wetness. As they said, 'Rain, rain, go away.' She wouldn't mind if it stayed away a good while too. Long enough to dry out her pelt anyways. She lifted her head, sniffing the air a moment before making a sharp turn. She had a good sense of direction, and every so often it paid off too. She wasn't sure how she knew, seeing as her time here had been minimal so far. But she did, and but some minutes later she was face to face with what she had been searching for.
Ah, the answer to all hopes and dreams, a place to set up camp and not feel waterlogged. Really she couldn't ask for more at the moment. Well, maybe if she wanted to push it she could see if pyro wasn't certifiable ticked off, but that wasn't the biggest of her concerns anyways. Skeletons resided in her closet.
