``Long legs stretched across the sandy beach, taking in the view as the sun set, casting hues of mauve and crimson crossways the sky. Toapa was not one to sit and smell the roses, or in this case watch a breath taking sunset, but rather she just happened to be at the right place at the right time. Her tongue rolled out of her mouth in the form of a yawn as she relaxed, catching her breath, after such a great kill. Just south of where she stood now was a small herd of deer, filled with younglings and lame. Toapa couldn’t resist the easy target, and all though she hunted on a packs land, she took advantage of the situation. The average sized deer lay stretched across the sand, just a few feet from the water’s edge. Toapa guarded the food, just as any hungry female would do.
`` She let out a howl, as she had previously been instructed to do. Prior to her first encounter with Pyro she was met with a snarky remark that informed her, “any business could have been held at the beach”. So that’s what she was doing. Toapa was never one to beg, but there was something about this pack that reminded her of home. And not the home that she grew up in, but rather the pack that she formed many years back and led to victory. She had many great memories in the days of the past, and for some odd reason, she wanted to relive them. Perhaps this time, accomplishing what she had not done prior. This time, she would under a leaders command, doing his biddings instead of creating her own. After all, Toapa likes to improvise in sticky situations, and her judgment is not always in the best interest of those around her. Her birth pack taught her to look after herself. And in all of these months in hiding, avoiding the public and pack laws, Toapa was still a bit rusty. But she had a few cards up her sleeve, and she was ready to perform.
`` The deer was close enough that Toapa could grab it and run, but far enough away to be considered a peace offering. After all, Toapa did take Pyro’s deer. His land, his food. The least she could do was catch it for him. Right off the bat Toapa wanted to display her great hunting skills. After all, law of survival pushed her to be able to hunt large meals. You have to eat large meals to be able to travel long distances before starvation begins to kick in. Toapa was prepared to show Pyro that she was worthy of his pack, and that he was equally worthy to have her as a member. She smiled at the thought as her pride began to kick in. Yea, she had a big head, always thinking proudly of herself. But when you're as amazing as her, you'd have to arrogant. After all, the skeletons in her closet had yet to escape. As far as she was concerned she still had a lot of storage in her closet.
`` She waited for the large male, eyes alert, but not eager, for his arrival. As soon as he approached, she knew what she would say.

//. Silhouetted against the sun was a massive wolf, standing atop one of the many rolling hills. Long, strong pillars made up most of his height, though a broad chest gave off the illusion of a thick, muscled wolf. And while Pyro had strength beyond most comparison, his legs were rather slender, and his barrel narrower then most with the physique he seemed to have. His coat color was quite uncommon in these lands, it seemed; it being a russet coloring. A rough circle of ebony color went around one of his eyes. Those eyes. Fascinating indeed. Almost black. Had he been born with irises around 3 shades darker they could be considered as black as his pupils, and a not a dark, muddy brown. While Pyro was obviously a threat, there was something about those eyes. The way they could change in a matter of seconds. How one moment they could be inviting, and the next? Closing you off. No longer letting you see anything. It made you feel smaller, less important in the scheme of things. Made you feel like he knew what was going to happen, and somehow unless you didn't follow what he was asking you to then you would get the short end of the stick. They made you feel vulnerable beyond compare, like he was stripping you of every thought.
//. Pyro, clearly now bored with the spectacular view, slowly made his way down the valley. His legs, while capable of incredible speed were rather slow, and his demeanor was of nonchalance. He didn't seem to be alert. Then again, why would he need to be? These lands had already been established as his own. Word had gotten out, and it was quite clear he was not a wolf to be messed with. There was no need for him to be anymore alert then if he had had a strong and thriving pack. As he hit the bottom of the valley he made his way to the forest. It was still his favorite place to be. Comfortable, shielded from prying eyes, and easy to get to if you knew how. As he trotted through the forest he sniffed the air. Something didn't smell right. Something was definitely off. The air smelled of blood. And a smell he had come across once before. He wasn't quite sure where to place it, but it was definitely familiar. He was already running towards the beach when a howl pierced the tranquil air. It was feminine, and right then he knew who it was; his memories now aroused. It was the vixen who had sauntered onto his land once already. He snorted. Back for more, was she? His smirked slightly. Nonetheless she was at the beach, which meant he had succeeded; she no longer had the nerve to cross his border again without his permission.
//. As the impressive lupine made his way forth it was quite clear he wasn't up for any chit chat. He had been through this wolf once, and he didn't like giving second chances. It was apparent she had figured that, or had known he would need impressing, because sitting by the lupine's feet lay a deer carcass. His fur slightly bristled, wondering whether this was for him or not. If it was it was a smart move, however if she was taunting him and she thought she'd get away with it, she was dead wrong, and it was a very bad move. Ebony lips pulled back slightly in warning, just in case she hadn't gotten the message.
"Now tell me, have you got the nerve to take my game, as well as come along my beach to flaunt it in my face? Because I assure you, thats not a very safe move." He knew he should be talking business, but already knowing her their was no introduction needed He was already slightly pissed at her because of their previous meeting, and this just drove him farther off the edge. That game had better be for Pyro, or else heads would roll.

`` Toapa did not move from her resting position. She remained composed, refusing to allow her ears to fold back or her fur bristle on ends in defense. She figured this might be disrespectful in sorts, because she did not submit to his dominance. But Toapa ignored the sensation that she should roll over, belly side up. She smiled as the brute began to speak. Yes, fall into the trap, do exactly as Toapa commends. The smirk across her face was a permanent grin that Pyro would eventually grow accustomed to. The smirk was her thinking face, the face she achieved when something clever was up her sleeve. Toapa was an actress, and Pyro the actor. Together they played an amazing, perfect role with precise cynical quality and achievement. If these two were to team up, there is no telling what the duo could acomplish. Toapa knew she needed this male on her side. And she was bound determined to win him over.
``“Temper, Temper. You shouldn’t just assume, Pryo.” The female smiled at him as she kept her calm. She knew better than to grow defensive with him. She wanted to play a game, responding with, ”It was here when I got here". But she had to take her own advice. If she assumed Pyro would understand her lie, and realize that she didn’t want to admit she did a thoughtful thing, by offering him a meal, then she would be in trouble. It would probably result in her humiliation. Her plan would run south, and this would all be for nothing. Besides, this male was clever enough that he probably would understand she killed the deer, and would ignore her gift all together. Damnit. Toapa hated it when she missed her chance to say something snarky. An awkward silence had rolled over the beach, so Toapa decided to tell the truth. “It’s for you.” She stated nonchalant as if the phone had rang and someone wished to speak to Pyro. She tried to hide the disappointment on her face. She hated being nice. "Don't say I never did anything for ya", the words were said quietly and sarcastically. If she and this wolf were to form a friendship, she knew this would be held over her head. Damnit. Way to go Toapa. She could just hear it in her head now, "Hey remember that time..."
`` It was obvious why Toapa was here. She was on different business than last time. Before she was just observing her surroundings and getting to know the lands in which she wished to inhabit. Now, she wished to call this place home. Ugh. Home. Such a dreadful word. She thought for a moment, and decided this would not be…home. But rather a place to rest her head at night, and a place to defend and show her worth. Yeah, that sounded better. Home is where the heart is. And Toapa does not have a heart to rest at home. She looked to the male for his next move. Would he accept her into his pack lands, or would he make her jump through hoops before he let her have what she wanted? She guessed Pyro's next words would not be, "Alright! You're in!" He was too smart for that. So instead, Toapa decided to add a comment before Pyro asked her what she wanted. She would introduce the topic herself. "Nice pack lands ya got here", she made sure to not sound too interested. She didn't want the male to think she came here for a challenge. Her body was loose and her posture displayed complete relaxation. If anything, Toapa sent the message that she would completely comfortable, making herself at home...a place to rest her head at night, and a place to defend and show her worth.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,50,true] | [bg=292421] He let a fake smile flash across his face for a brief moment before he wiped it off. Didn't need it at the moment. Needed something else. He thought for a moment but it wasn't long before he had an idea; things like this came naturally to Pyro. A small smirk played across his ebony lips, mocking her for just a second, then he let a little warmth pour into it. There. A bit of charm should do it. "Ugh, that sentence.. so cliche, don't you think?" He asked, the traces of a crooked grin sweeping across his maw once more, however for the moment he'd let the whole awkward conversation slide. As the clever femme continued on, her point was clear enough. If she had wanted to challenge him the vixen would have already walked past the boarders. No, she wanted to join. As her sentence, finally finished was left hanging in the air a broad smile formed across his maw. What a funny little thing. He knew she'd be interested. For just a moment he relished in his silent victory, because whether she knew it or not she had just admitted defeat. "They are, aren't they? Nice and peaceful. Quite a nice place to live if you ask me." Yeah, maybe he was being slightly cocky, but then again he had won from his perspective. He was pretty sure that now he knew exactly where this conversation would be going as long as he didn't piss her off too badly. But that might be hard. He was in a very sarcastic mood today.
After he was done speaking his part he sat, not even taking note of the gift. He wanted to make it clear that if she was to get in, there was no way in hell it would be because of spoilage. Nope, she'd get in fair and square, just as everyone else had. Maybe it'd be even harder, after all she had pissed him off quite a bit during the brief period of time they had met, even if she had partly sided with Pyro and not Tsuz. He wondered though, how much of a nuisance would she be? Would it help for her to be in this pack? Oh well. Soon enough he'd find out. He really did need more pack members, and really he had nothing top secret going on, no reason for him not to trust outsiders. He could put her under trial. Or something along those lines. Maybe not exactly trial. He needed to be out recruiting. He had no time for trials. Oh well. He'd figure it out later, wouldn't he? Wouldn't he? Or would he forget about it in the chaotic mind of his? Would it be jumbled up, lost in the mess of more important things? But that brings up the question; whats more important then his pack? Then a possible traitor in the ranks? Maybe he shouldn't be doing this at all. What? No! That wasn't Pyro. Pyro was sure, confident, ready for anything. So who was this brittle wolf inside of his mind? Another remnant of a character from long ago? Probably. The most typical answer, anyways.

``She eyed the male with a steady gaze, observing his every move and expression. He was calm, but he kept a high dominance level, reminding Toapa to stay in her place. "Ugh, that sentence.. so cliche, don't you think?" Toapa ignored his insult, brushing it under the rug like any slothful house maid. An awkward silence briefly hung in the air before Pryo began to express his pride and confidence for his chosen pack lands. Well now, won't we just dampen the subject a bit? "I wouldn't say they were all that, Pryo. There nice. Average is more the word," she stated in a matter of fact tone. The smirk on her face was permanent at this point. If he wanted Toapa on her best behavior, he would have to tone it down just a notch. It was a two way street with Toapa. She was equally as cocky as he, and she mocked him with her icy stare.
`` Pyro had an unsettling expression on his face that made Toapa on edge. She wasn't nervous or afraid, but more concerned. She couldn't decide if he was genuinely excited to see her, or if he was only amused of her return. Had he expected her to show up and ask for acceptance? She assumed it was the later. Toapa, on occasion, was easy to read. But what alarmed her, was the fact that Pryo did appear enthralled that she sat before him, seeking acceptance. At least, to her it appeared that way. No male was ever excited to see Toapa. No female for that matter. Instead, when Toapa joined a conversation whispers and mutters of, "oh great, she's here" echoed across the circle. But do you think she cared? Hell no. She would sit her pretty little ass here just to annoy the young alpha if she had to. Except one thing was holding her back.
`` He ignored her gift. And that was all there was too it. She looked over at the small peace offering, back to Pyro, and then back to the meal. You know, there would be no need to waste such a wonderful fresh delight. A massive paw stretched out to grab the deer, pulling it in closer to her body. Immaturity began to settle in as a vindictive thought crossed her mind. She wanted to grab the deer and leave him with the lingering words of, Well if you're not going to accept the meal, then I will take it somewhere else. I'm sure I can find some appreciative wolf to share with. But there was an uncertainty that she had. If she dared speak the words, she might gamble her chances in the Fovos pack. He might actually let her walk away. He might actually not care. Then why should I care? She contemplated her mental argument as she stood up on all four feet.
"You know, it's a shame to waste this. So if you're not going to eat it, I am." Her voice held no shame or frustration. Her voice was laced in seriousness.

Well now, someone wasn't playing very nice. He'd have to fix that. Soon. At the moment he was deep in thought. His optics shifting out of focus. She could, if she wanted, attack him, but he doubted she would. How good would she be? He doubted she'd follow orders very well, and the way she was treating him right now would not do. That would have to stop, no matter how much disrespect he gave her. He'd treat her with respect once she had earned it. Until then she was just another wolf, below him and his intelligence. He looked down on her, a smirk playing at his lips. Oh, I supposed in your opinion it would be only average. I heard a rumor you came from somewhere quite odd. These pretty little lands must be quite foreign to you, yes? Then again I heard your whole life was off kilter, running from each land you came from? Decided to try and acceptable nowadays, have you? Of course he had never heard such things, but he had guessed the running away part, just by the way she had stayed out of view for the amount of time she did when they had first met, by the way she had lied to him the first time she talked to him. She was hiding something. He'd use that to his advantage. After all, almost every wolf had something hidden, and it was quite uncommon for a wolf to ever have come up from an average family over here, it seemed. Look at Pyro, and so many other wolves he had come across. It just didn't seem likely that she had had a nice childhood. And her attitude just gave him all the more reason to assume such thoughts.
Alright, he got the message. She wanted to be treated with respect, and he had to admit, he wasn't being very fair. Okay, down to business. Well, thats what he was planning on doing, but then she took it a step too far. He watched as she stood, his eyes cold and calculating. As the words fell from her maw and into the suddenly tense air his eyes narrowed, just slightly. Thats not a good idea, I'd sit back down if I were you, and leave the meat alone. All the while he stayed where he was, sitting, eyes narrowed, locked on hers. Heres the time where she got to choose. Right here, right now, her choice would affect the way he looked at her for the rest of their time knowing each other. Right at this moment, what she did in reply to what he asked could potentially be then end for her, depending if she escaped him or not. Did she want to stay? Or did she want to leave? It was her choice, he'd give it to her graciously, mostly because he was curious of her, and wanted to know her better, wanted to see why she was like this. How did she dare to do so many things that would normally get her killed? How has she survived this much, with all the things she did. Normally a wolf in her position would have already been tackled, or chased.Either way getting the message across that his power, and his dominance, was not to be threatened. But Here he was, giving her the chance. Would she take it and run with it? Or drop the ball? There was the obvious smart choice, but then again, her choices hadn't been very smart since the beginning.

``She weighed her options and promptly came to the conclusion that maybe this wasn't the best decision. Pyro spoke harshly to her, opening old wounds and reminding her of her damned father. Yeah, she was running from her past. What of it? She had her reasons. Her brothers were ruthless, always trying to kill and dispose of her. She witnessed her mother’s death. Inevitably she killed her oldest brother after he tracked her down. She became alpha of a pack, and killed all the pups of the rival pack. Yes, she had problems. Yes, she had issues. And yes, she was running from each of her mistakes. But did Pyro need to hear all of that? No. Because clearly he knew everything about her, from start to finish. Was she really that easy to read? I would think not. Probably a load of bullshit that just so happened to be right on target.
`` Her green eyes stared deep into Pyro, denying everything that he said. Wait? Was that supposed to be an insult Pyro? You might want to try again. ”The fact of the matter is that you have heard of me. I am quite the talk of the town." Pyro half way had her figured out. Except, she had not exactly ran away from her last pack lands. Sure, she was still avoiding her family as her brother had tracked her down. But, she left her alpha lands because of famine. The only last standing wolves were her and her beta, Crow. He was a loyal companion, but they agreed to go their separate ways. He wanted to head south, and she north. It was a far agreement to never search for each other again. They had their good run, no need to seek it out again. And here we are, with Toapa seeking a reverse role. She was willing to fall beneath Pyro, accepting him as a leader. Except his bullheadedness was making her second guess this choice. Would it be worth it? It seemed like a lot more trouble than its initial attraction.
`` That’s not a good idea, I'd sit back down if I were you, and leave the meat alone. Oh yeah, Pryo? Why don’t you make me. I’d like to see you get off your fat ass and actually do something about it! Okay, so maybe her insides were screaming it, but she held her tongue. Her eyes were locked with Pyro’s in a challenging fashion. His frustration exploded on to her, making her equally aggravated and unable to endure the situation. Excuse me, but you never demand Toapa to do something. She respected this male, but only a minuscule amount. If he wanted to send out commands he best find himself a submissive little bitch. Toapa would never tolerate this sort of behavior. What kind of alpha is he? A bullshit one, that’s what. She continued to challenge the male, holding an attitude as she half way sat down. Her lower end had yet to fall to the ground, as she hovered slightly.
`` The message came loud and clear: sit down, or be placed six feet under. Pyro was no longer playing games, and Toapa debated what would be the best plan of action. Briefly she lost interest in the pack. It would be impossible for her to take orders. No male would ever earn her respect. And not because of some boo-hoo bullshit that a male had broken her heart. No, it was because as a pup she never received love. She never knew how to be courteous of another living being. She only knew how to dominate another one, forcing them into submission. But something about this male. Maybe it was the way he looked at her, or the tone of voice that he spoke in. But it reminded her of her father. It was enough to push her on her back, exposing her throat. It was partially terrifying and partially infuriating. She was unsure what we would be the best plan of action. Stay in a place that might turn out like her pup hood, or run away, and do what she did best- hide. The choice was pretty damn obvious.
`` She sat down. No further questions, sir.

The russet wolf stayed where he was, he wanted the message to be clear that she was no threat, no matter how pissed at him she was. That this she-wolf in front of him, while being a prospected member, would not be anything more if she was to treat him the way she had been. It just wouldn't work. Not one bit of it. She seemed to understand it all, because even though for a while she had rebelled, challenged him even, she sat, silent. The earlier remark was left untouched. He didn't even want to get in another quarrel. He had obviously hit a weak spot. Something to keep in mind, but he wouldn't be looking into it for a while. First he needed to gain her trust, yadda, yadda, yadda. And she would be a tough one to crack. No, for the time being he would have to keep himself level headed, not go looking into things he didn't know what were, and figure out if this she-wolf was worth his time. Sighing inwardly he began his next sentence. Sometimes he wondered what made him think why a pack was worth all the pain, suffering, and stress that it put on the poor alpha. "Right, yes your talked about every where you go, I'm sure." He said dismissively, not really wanting to start a whole other thing. Femmes were so much more touchy then males. Thats why he really didn't want anything to do with them.
He watched the lupine for a moment, sizing her up. Quickly in his mind he thought of all her strengths and weaknesses he knew of at the moment. We;;, she didn't follow orders very well, she had a sharp tongue and a loud mouth, but he could tell she was a survivor. And he needed survivors, not ones who were used to the pampering. This pack was based mainly on military. He was literally building an army to take over the world, having push overs and submissive wolves wouldn't get him very far. He carried on his conversation with the rebellious wolf. "Now, why exactly have you come across my average lands, then?" Oh, he couldn't help it. That first taunt towards him had rubbed his fur the wrong way, and he planned on getting her back, even if it took awhile. Slowly, he'd taunt her about having joined his average pack when it was victorious. She how she liked her words thrown back in her face. He really didn't like it when wolves insulted him. Since he was so over comulsive he thought about everything way too much, therefor making it almost impossible for him to set aside his mistakes, and what others had to say. Yes, it was healthy to learn from whatever others criticize about and from your own mistakes, and he had, perfecting himself as much as possible, but there is a point where you have to let it go, and Pyro hadn't been able to accomplish that very successfully. Ever.

``The luminous sky, now lit by the moon, cast an eerie sensation across Toapa’s reflection. When she had first arrived, at sunset, she had brought with her a small deer to offer Pyro as a gift. It was a courteous donation that one would never expect Toapa to give – and you can rest assured it will never happen again. Toapa took time out of her busy schedule to catch the damn meal for the male, and there it sat attracting vultures and other various scavengers. By now she had given up on the meal. If Pyro wanted to feed the worthless creatures of the land, and not consume it himself. Then so be it. He was the boss after all, she would not argue with him. At least, not today. Toapa could see her fathers taunting tone hidden in the males voice, causing for an unusual reaction. She did not hold a timid expression, or even a frightened one, but rather attentive. She watched the alpha's every move and expression, waiting for any threatening signs.
`` She had not imagined their personalities would clash as they had. In fact, she had anticipated that her gift would distract Pyro and he would over look her flaws. She imagined him accepting her into his pack, no questions asked. But instead, they sat here as the male forced her into an unnatural submissive stance, and asking her to practically beg for acceptance. Now, why exactly have you come across my average lands, then? Was it not obvious why she was here? Did he really enjoy this torment? Clearly he was the perfect match for her, but she loathed being on the other side of the spectrum. She was in unfamilar territory and was uncertain what would be the best plan of action. Toapa always thought three steps ahead. But this Pyro character, he kept knocking her off schedule. She tried to herd him in one direction and yet he moved in the opposite. She was unsure what tricks this actor had up his sleeve, and Toapa would be damned if she'd be beat at her own game. Who did this guy think he was anyways?
`` She ignored him for a moment as she gazed up at the sky. She might have sat in submission, but she would not answer his question on a dime. Physically her body was calm, and remained as motionless as Pyro, but mentally her thoughts were running a marathon. She had numerous unanswered questions, and her mind was in a panic state. The rebellious mind set only held a tighter grip when she realized she was speaking to a wolf that mimicked her father’s disposition. She questioned his abilities, and if he was only faking an intimidating front. Would he always be this insensitive and controlling? She swept the thoughts under a mental rug and returned her gaze to match his own. “Average lands need more or less than average wolves to join,” she plainly stated. Toapa sat up straight, but no longer in a challenging motion. Instead, she was ready for a full evaluation. "I'll be which ever one you want me to be." He could take the comment however he pleased. Pyro had partially learned how to manipulate Toapa's reaction process. Beat her into submission. Works everytime.
`` Toapa knew she was better than this, and could not understand why she insisted on joining the Fovos pack. There was just something unusual about the aurora of the place and Toapa wanted to further investigate the intriguing sensation she felt in these lands. It almost appeared that she thrived on putting herself in dangerous situations. Anyone with common sense would know to avoid anyone who resembled an abusive father. But instead, Toapa sat and stared at the male. She wanted to figure him out. She felt a need to understand why he was the way he was. Maybe it would help her understand why her father acted the way he did? -- Wait? What? Whoa, someone’s getting a little too sentimental. You’re reading way too far into this, Toapa. The thoughts were simple, but accurate. She eyed the male, sighed, and let her body completely relax. Fine, you win this round Pyro. But next time you better bring your boxing gloves. BECAUSE IT'S GAME ON!
