Slumber had taken over this beast as the sun fell toward the West horizon, the day coming to a close while the skies fill with magnificent colors. Though his eyes lay closed, the scar can still be noted on the right eyelid and the rest of his unique markings were represented handsomely by the light. Large paws hung over the bank, while the massive body lay motionless including his muscles. Ears though were quite aware of the surroundings, the heightened senses were appreciative and this fellow had used them to his advantage rather than a curse. The day had been quite uneventful and therefore sleep was sometimes the only way Legion could find peace within his mind, Mr. Gray was not able to enter his dreams and this he could not be more thankful for.
Nostrils also inhaled and exhaled slowly, allowing all the scents and aromas to register and either it would awake the male or in this case to continue sleeping. The Ibex horns were very large and held a regal appearance, and usually something with sharp teeth and horns protruding from their skull would make any being turn and take a different direction. The sunset skies picked up the gun metal coat, as well as the exotic purple markings which set him apart from all the others. There had been no danger, nothing to alert the massive male and so he continued to lay asleep rather than awake for no reason. Usually a wolf did not lay in the open, preferring to sleep in a shelter rather than by a river where many traveled.
As it closed from day to night, it seemed not even the pale spotlight could wake up this sleeping beast. A gentle breeze rushed by, and the light sound of rippling in the water still did not stir the male. He would wait until the scent of another or the aroma of danger wafted into his nasal cavity. For now his focus was on this peace of mind, the ability to sort things out through dreams while Mr. Gray lay away not able to intrude. Only his ear twitched as a nocturnal insect landed, sending it off into the current of the wind. Legion had been sleeping more lately, to escape Mr. Gray and allow only his thoughts about the past few days to analyze. Toapa being the one who stuck the most thus far, and also he wondered if a wolf would be traveling the river this night.

Legs clad in stripes much like those human prisoners once wore propelled the wolf at a wildly quick pace. A little laugh burst from her mouth as she came skidding to a halt, looking around with dark purple eyes. Everything about her seemed to hold a sort of energy at the moment. It wasn't her usual way of acting, but over the years Aeg had proved herself to be a bit unpredictable. Her ivory teeth glinted in the ashy moonlight as she gave the world a grin that practically told everyone within sight that she was missing a few handfuls of sanity. Okay, most of her sanity. Not that was really her fault, because it wasn't. Well, actually it was too complicated to go over at the moment... The wolf shook her bright emerald green head as if she could shake thoughts right out of her head. Maybe she could. But so far it just hadn't really worked.
Her senses seemed to be on high alert for no real reason and she relished the feeling, walking around as if she had only just woken and the world was far more interesting now than she recalled it to have been. Her tail flicked as a sort of wild amusement mixed with joy in it's most odd form seeped into her. Truth be told she had been awake for some time and maybe she ought to be tired, but her mad mind was always so strange and things like this happened to her occasionally. It was always fun. Right up until someone ruined it, but she would just hope no morons were in the immediate area. That was the best she could do. That, and enjoy the heck out of this feeling while it lasted. She smiled and went racing off into the trees, working her way towards the woods at a pace that was most likely a bad idea.
The world seemed to pass in a blur and while she took it all in, it didn't really register. Her heart was pounding and she felt alive. She felt nearly as sane as she had been some time ago, but she wasn't dumb enough to think this would stay. She pinned her ears and ran harder, dodging around trees and heading to the river like her life depended on getting there. This elation was coming to a close, she could feel it. A pang of emotion ran through her and she realized she must be sad. Sad to see this happiness go, sad that she would go back to what she usually was. That crazy beast with no sense of self preservation or any regret for the stupid things she did. Well, she did regret things, things from way back. But nowadays it was all like rain, hitting her but never hard enough to hurt much or really register. 'You're going to get yourself killed one day acting like this.' Wise words she heard in a time when she actually bothered respecting authority figures. Maybe one day she would listen, but that was far down the road, and many more troubles lay ahead. May as well get started.
Her claws dug into the soft ground as she tried to halt her speeding body, but she found two things were wrong with her timing. One: Running that fast and then coming to a sudden halt was just not possible. No matter how hard she tried. Second: She should have paid attention because she was quickly flying in the direction of what seemed to be a very fast river. It was one of those 'oh hell' moments. The one where you know what will happen long enough before it does to make your guts twist up in anticipation. But, crashing into things is also a good way to slow your momentum. Now, crashing into boulders you somehow managed to miss might slow you, but she got the feeling it was going to hurt quite a bit. Suddenly her front legs, which had been pressed down to slow herself, hit something hard and she went flying over it, landing hard, but managing to stop all the same.
It felt strangely like falling from anywhere else did, but also a lot less painful. She blinked as she lay there a moment before rising and looking all around. Instantly she noticed the wolf who appeared to be sleeping... Right out in the open. Just... Laying there. Horns were sitting atop this one's skull and she found them quite impressive. All big and potentially deadly. Obviously if he was going to stay where just anyone could see him, he had faith in his own ability to use them. She looked at his coat for a moment, how the evening light fell on it, reflecting light off of his silvery coat like it did the moon. And she liked the purple marks, such an interesting contrast from the ashy base color. Too bad she had no purple. Oh well, her colors were good enough. She sat down some distance from him, deciding if hanging around for him to wake would be a god idea. It was easier to like someone when they were asleep. They couldn't speak or do anything she disliked. No, sleeping wolves just breathed and were. Maybe it was about time for her to chill and let the conscious ones be around her too. Okay, but only for a little while.

Dreams were not dreams in this fellow's mind instead all it was, was sleep. Mr. Gray was at bay and the world could not be more perfect that is when he was not in cognitive thought. As he lay here his other sense were aware of the outside world, Legion was no fool and therefore even at his grand size he did not underestimate stupidity. Of course the sound of flowing water, birds and other such species creating their usual noises. Yet what caught his attention was the faint but audible sound of paws at a rather quickened pace. Legion able to faintly catch the aroma of the wolf, did not make any movement nor did he fully wake up. The male thought maybe the wolf would pass by not truly interested in the sleeping beast, and just continued on their rapid path.
The sound did not grow more faint instead it actually grew louder and louder until there was a second of silence and then a large thud that vibrated through the Earth. It had to of been in close proximity because Legion was certain he may have felt a faint vibration, though still he did not move or make any sound. The wolf had obviously fell in some form, due to the quick silence and then quicker thud. It was actually quite hilarious that this wolf had fallen, and now it was in company. He could have burst into laughter at the foolishness of such a being, though once more he remained to be sleeping. The wolf had not yet made a sound, and as if he was normally breathing his nostrils inhaled to perfect the aroma. A female had fallen, this made it more entertaining.
As the beast lay motionless for a few more passing minutes, he then allowed just his lips to move and his jaws to only part enough for him to speak. "Have a nice trip?" The sarcasm dripped from his words, yet an odd and alluring charm was mingled in those baritones. His vocals were natural very deep, and a bit rough from time to time. No other motions or noises were emitted as he waited to see the reaction of this female before actually wanting to get up. One eyelid flickered open and it was luckily his left eye, the surreal purple was remarkable underneath the moonlight. Still Legion had not raised his skull from his paws, nor had he moved anything other than the one eye to look upon the female. She was quite divine.

A most unpleasant look crossed her face as she stared at this other wolf. Who he was didn't matter at this point, what mattered was deciding if she didn't like him. Always best to go from there. Just looking at him she couldn't really decide what he might be like. She was never good at picking others apart, but she also never really needed to be. Crazy wolves don't have to rely on such things. Mostly because it seemed like others avoided her, but she couldn't really blame them for it. But her opinion of this large male who dared to sleep in the open was trying desperately to form itself, but she refused to let it. It was smartest to wait until he spoke, and once they had talked a bit, then she would be able to decide if she liked of hated this male. Of course he was at a disadvantage just by being a male at all. She never really liked them, and unless he was real different, she saw no way he could change her mind. Not to mention she had no use for them. Or, really anyone. Other than an occasional conversation to keep her madness in check, she had little reason to socialize.
Her lip curled some as he spoke, only moving his lips, and just enough to speak. Her fur raised as she considered being aggravated by this, but finally she settled. No point in letting him ruffle her fur so early in their little talk. It would only hurt her in the long run. Sure, she was much better at making enemies, but maybe she ought to avoid it once in a while. Heck, sometimes she didn't even understand herself. But still, one thing she could be sure of was that this wolf who lay before her had lost a few points just with those four words. Like she meant to be clumsy... It was just inconvenient to go somewhere, and also look where she was going! Maybe that was laziness speaking, but what did she care? Actually, that was a good point. Why should she care at all what anyone thought? She didn't usually. Fine time to start. Okay, so she would get over it, now what? She still had to make a decision about how to handle this situation. If she wanted, she could bother with manners, introductions, even take on a slightly different personality. But that just didn't feel like Aeg. Aeg might be crazy, but at least she could be counted on to be her.
Her own dark violet eyes locked onto this male's purple ones. They matched the markings on his body, and she had to admit that the effect of the moonlight on them made the color look briliant. Funny thing about her. She could see and recognize something for what it was and still not care at all. Like Aeglaeca honestly cared what he looked like. He was a stranger and he was talking to her. As of yet this one was an unknown and was to be watched and treated with some caution until she could classify him as either a friend or foe. That was how things were done, and she would only allow an exception in a life or death matter. Right now, she sure didn't feel near death. So regardless of his lack of threatening moves, he was nothing. Nothing except someone to make a choice about. And yes, the sarcastic tone he had taken did in fact annoy her some. But that was just her. Aeg never took a great liking to sarcasm. At least sarcasm that wasn't coming from her and directed at someone she didn't like. She worked differently from everyone else, but hey, gotta do what works to live, right? Her style was individual to her, and it hadn't let her down yet. Wait, no that was a lie. But she also didn't mind lies that were made by her.
Holding her head high, she gathered her thoughts, prepping her mind to respond. Equally sarcastic replies of a dozen sorts ran through her brain, but she chose not to use them. If she was going to be annoyed by something, she was not going to become a hypocrite so quickly. That would just be stupid. Her head tilted a bit to the right as she studied him for a second, quickly saying, No, not really. Haven't gotten anywhere important and it seems Aeg's sore now. Pity. And how about you? What brings you here to sleep in the open like an arrogant fool? Really, Aeg is curious as to why you might think that a good idea. So much for not sarcastic. Well, it was mostly unvarnished truth. Not so much sarcastic as bitter, with an undertone of her deepest annoyance. Of course, she really would like to see what his answer might be to her questions. It was always interesting when she found someone she could have a conversation with that was actually interesting. Keeping in mind that any conversation with a male was one she didn't care for too greatly. They always managed to push her buttons. Really, whatever their problem was, someone was going to have to fix that someday. Just, not her.
