¦¦tripping out, spinning around¦¦
~~Ah, her old friend hunger. It was gnawing at her stomach again, as though she had swallowed a large branch and it was now attempting to twist out the bottom of her stomach. Of course, that wasn't possible. Marigo hadn't swallowed any branches recently. At least, she didn't think she did.
~~She had survived the week on berries she had found, and scraps of dead carcasses from a pack she had been trailing. Eventually, the alpha had found her out and chased her off, and now she was limping because of the deep bite wound on her hind left leg.
~~So here she was, hobbling along beside the shoreline, watching the big, rusty boat sit in the water and creak at her. She saw the occasional flutter of wings as a bird flew in or out. Surely, if there were birds flying in and out, there would be eggs and chicks to eat? Those would be easy to get, as long as they didn't peck her to death as she pulled their wings off. The squirmy little things were so violent, she didn't understand why they couldn't just sit still and let her eat them.
~~As she moved up into the ship, the pads on the bottom of her paws made soft patting noises against the metal. Her wings tucked against her side so she could fit through the narrow hallways. She could smell birds; bunches and bunches of birds. Her dinner, hopefully. She moved to the left, where she could see more light being shed from some open source. Moving slowly because of her limp, Marigo still marked her place at every corner so she could find her way back.
~~Her head low, she approached the soft light that was spilling in from holes in the wall of the ship. There was a bird's nest in front of her, just a couple paces away. The soft flesh of downy hatchlings writhed in the nest, yellow mouths gaping up at the sky even though their parents were nowhere in sight. Marigo crept forward, lifting her bad leg off the ground completely so she wouldn't be thumping so loudly. The birds were unaware of her as far as she could tell; still screaming for food.
~~Finally she came upon the nest, and giving a cautious look out the hole to see if the parents were back yet, she snatched a chick up in her jaws and began to eat it. The other chicks screamed at her as she ate, but she didn't care, this meat was much too good to let another pass up.
~~She had gone through two more chicks before her quivering ears heard the flap of wings, and she let out a frightened yelp as a huge feathery mass came whirling at her. She darted back down the hall, howling in indignity as the bird followed close behind. Her own wings burst outward, crashing against the inside of the walls, and she lost her footing as her wounded leg collapsed beneath her. White wings flapped furiously as the bird snapped at her tail and then went back the way it had come, satisfied.
~~Marigo lay still for a moment, tongue hanging out the side of her mouth as she panted. Her tummy was no longer growling at her, but now her leg ached worse than before; the wound had reopened and red blood ran down her leg, covering the old dried blood. She grimaced with distaste and squirmed onto her belly, readjusting her wings against her sides once more. They seemed undamaged. She limped out of the ship and finally collapsed on the shoreline, wings spread out behind her and tongue lolling out.
~~"Totally worth it," She panted to herself.

GOD DAMNIT! The beast yelled from within the bowels of the ship. He hadn't the faintest idea as to why he crawled into this hellhole in the first place. Perhaps it was because at the moment, there was no life in his pack lands. Therefore he had nothing to do at home. So the black demon was stalking the corridors of the ship, and now he wanted out. He just couldn't seem to find his way out. His gold flecked eyes were tinged with red as he looked about the dark shadows of the unknown. They didn't bother him. He was familiar with the unknown, and even felt at home with it. That isn't what was bothering him. What was bothering him is the fact that he was beginning to feel crushed being in here for so long. He felt as if he couldn't breath. The monster of a wolf snarled deeply; a sound that was baritone in it's self. A deep, angry note that would send even the bravest of souls fleeing for their lives. The sinew in his boy grew tense for a moment. Was that yowling he heard of another canine? He tilted his head to the side, twin harks straining to pick up where exactly the noise was coming from. Once he had an idea he allowed his columns to carry him toward the source. By now, his nose was picking up the scent of blood. What the hell? As he approached the small puddle of blood he dropped his nose to take a whiff of it. What exactly injured her? He took a fleeting glance back, but what he saw was enough to make he growl, and the hair on his back bristle. The birds were returning, ready to give him a piece of their unadulterated fury as well. Hellfire glanced up at the weak ceiling, and then back at the birds. He allowed his wings to stretch out, but they couldn't get very far. They were brushing against the walls of the corridor before becoming fully extended. Sorry wings. he muttered before allowing the sinew in his body to contract. He crouched lower to the ground for more momentum before springing up into the air. His wings caught the air, but there was no wind down here so he had to work extra hard just to get enough momentum to crash through the weak steel. His body launched through the ship, and the black demon winced as he felt the wind tease the laceration that were now scattered through his body. He, however, had escaped the fury of the birds, and that was just fine for him. He had new problem, though. His wings were not meant for long distance flying. He hadn't used them enough. He felt himself sinking toward the surface of the ocean, and there was no way to stop himself from plunging into the frigid cold water. He gave a loud yelp as he disappeared under the surface. He wasn't far from the shore, but as he crawled upon the terra of earth he looked like a drowned rat. His columns scrambled to carry him upon the sandy beach. His wings were fully extended so he could dry them out. Suddenly, the striped demon was over whelmed by the smell of blood. He craned his neck to the right to gaze curiously at the female that lay upon the shore panting. Suddenly, an idea hit him. Why not have a little fun? He trotted forward, the water slinging from his dark coat, and flapping banner. Without warning, he said Bird trouble? His voice was low, and when unexpected, perhaps a little terrifying too. A smirk curled the corners of his lips into an almost devious looking grin before he glanced once more at the femme.[/blockquote]

¦¦tripping out, spinning around¦¦
~~She heard the commotion from the ship but couldn't be bothered with it. She was resting her body. The sand was getting into the wound on her leg and making it sting, but she had never been taught to clean her wounds before, so it stayed mucky, blood dried over it and sand and dirt in it as well. It would be a miracle if it didn't get infected soon. Stretching her wings out, she shook the sand from them and pulled them against her body. She rolled onto her belly and began to stand up.
~~A booming crash came from the ship, and she let out a shocked yelp as she saw another winged wolf burst from the ship's cover. She stared as they soared over the water, their wings outspread. She herself couldn't fly at all, so watching this other wolf was amazing to her, and she sat there gawking, awe-struck. Of course, it didn't take an expert at flying to realize that the other wolf was descending too fast towards the water. Marigo watched as he plummeted into the ocean with a splash.
~~He spotted her. Marigo's lowered ears immediately perked up in curiosity. He was a lovely looking male, and she was simply amazed by the size of his wings. They were nearly twice as big as hers; she hadn't even fully developed yet, for she was only one year old. Perhaps that was the reason.
~~When he spoke, Marigo's harks flickered at the strange sensation. His voice was deep, sounding almost demonic, but somehow it was comforting to her. She could feel the soft rumble in her chest when he spoke. She attempted to stand, let out a yelp as her back leg shrieked in protest, and then fell back onto her belly. She looked up at the brute with her piercing blue eyes. "I should ask you the same thing," She retorted. "Or did you just burst through a boat for fun?"
~~She was still young. She hadn't been taught pack mentality, how to act or who to surrender to. She didn't know how to hunt, how to find prey, or how to find a good den. She knew nothing about being a wolf, only how to get by on bare survival. Here this brute stood before her, knowing everything that was needed to survive in this world, and she couldn't even stand up.
~~She shook her wings out and watched him for another moment before saying, "I'm Marigo. Who're you?"

Hellfire's eyes narrowed just slightly when the white she-wolf turned to face him. Her piercing blue eyes were full of intelligence, yet she was still young. She knew not how to treat him, or take care of herself for that matter. Something inside of him stirred, and despite his evil demeanor he felt the need to help her. The innocence in her was just too great. Besides, she was still young, and had the potential to become a great warrior. He was getting ahead of himself, he didn't even know if she had a pack yet. His gold flecked gaze stopped on her wound. It was crusted with dry blood, and an angry red tinge was developing around the laceration. He took a few more steps forward, his crown lowering ever so slightly before her lyrics caressed his harks. His head snapped up as she spoke almost defiantly. He arched a brow at her, and answered Mhmm...but the birds were riled up because of a sneaky killer that had eaten the chicks for food. Or so I'm guessing; you wouldn't know who did that, would you darlin'? He muttered, before stepping toward her once more His demeanor had changed a little bit; the brute had multiple personalities, and the caring, soft one never came out. Never. As she gave her name Hellfire made a mental note of it. Then, noticing his close proximity to the female he took a step back before rolling back onto his haunches to eye her. Name's Hellfire; Alpha of Il Dimenticato. He answered, the foreign words flowing off of his tongue easily. He eyed the wound once more before taking a fleeting glance away from her. What could he do for her? He wasn't exactly caring, and there had been few young ones that had ever gotten past his defenses. One of them was his adopted son, Ash. One day, he was there with Hellfire; learning how to fight. The next, he was gone. He glanced over Marigo once more before speaking again How'd you get that wound there? He asked, gesturing to it with his crown. occ;; naw, it was great. Mine was horrible ^[/blockquote]

¦¦tripping out, spinning around¦¦
~~This brute was quite the sight. He was larger up close, Marigo could see, but instead of cowering down like a good little subordinate, she lifted her head to see his face better. He had pretty eyes, she decided. She liked his eyes. He seemed so rough and demonic on the outside, but she could see that same soft look in his eyes that she had seen before. Of course, she couldn't remember where because of her amnesia, but she knew that look and she knew that it normally meant good things.
~~He looked at her as he spoke and she gave a sheepish laugh. "Yeahhhh, that was my fault. I figured baby birds would be an easy meal. Guess not..." She glanced off towards the boat just in case the parents decided to come and eat her again. By the lag of approaching feather masses, she assumed she was safe.
~~Marigo watched as he moved closer. She watched him with big blue eyes, her tail wagging slightly without her knowing. She hadn't learned about cruelty yet. Only through the alpha biting her leg did she realize that some wolves wouldn't like her or want her near them. But of course, she had forgotten that lesson already, despite the fact that the consequences were pulsing on her hind leg. Her harks perked forward as he stepped back and spoke.
~~"So you're an alpha?" She asked, suddenly looking weary. Maybe he would bite her too. Maybe that's what alphas did; bite little wolves on their legs and injure them to the point of limping. But he didn't look like that other alpha. He looked bigger and scarier but somehow, safer. He didn't have his hackles raised at her for no reason or his lips pulled back off his pearly fangs. He also didn't have her leg in his mouth, which was always a plus for her.
~~She looked back at the wound before replying, "Well I was following this pack around eating what they didn't and the alpha bit me." She looked up at him. "It's been hurting since then." There was a kind of hurt sound in her voice. It had been terrifying to be chased off by another wolf, one of her own kind. She had been treated like a leper, kicked away from the group as the others had watched. And afterwards, they had cheered their alpha for getting rid of the mangy, starving wolf. Marigo simply didn't know what to do or who to trust anymore. Not that she remembered trusting anyone in the first place.

He nodded his head to her words about the baby birds. It was true, they were an easy meal, but only if you got in, and got out before the parents got back. Your very lucky flocks of them didn't attack you. It's never fun, I assure you. His voice still lacked a certain amount of emotion, but it also didn't have that under laying coldness to it. He wasn't here to hurt her, but instead to see if he could help her. Perhaps, if she was willing, he could take her back to his home, and treat her wound. There was one thing people would have to see about the alpha. He was kind to those that were in his pack. He rule with an iron fist, but he'd screw any body up that decided to mess with them. Perhaps that just what Marigo needed. He wasn't going to push that idea onto her frail little mind just yet. Instead, he watched as her demeanor changed to something that could be compared to weariness. He stood then, and took a step back unsure of what it was that called for the sudden change. Yes, I'm an alpha. An alpha to an empty pack land. He allowed a slight chuckle to escape his jowls, but it was clear that he wasn't really amused by the thought of being alpha to nothing. That was the greatest insult one could ever face. At least, to Hellfire it was. As she spoke about the alpha that had wounded her for eating what they weren't the hair on his nape rose. A slight growl was heard, and he shook his handsome dome. Alpha's like that have no business being around. I've never understood why one couldn't eat what they didn't. I might not be the nicest of wolves around, but I am sensible. As she mentioned that it had been hurting ever sense the bastard bit her he padded closer for a better look. As he approached her he lowered his nose to it for a moment. He didn't touch it for he wasn't looking to hurt her, but rather get a closer look. He could see the puffy, red angry skin around the laceration, and winced. He straightened up, and looked at female once more. It's hurting because it's infected, and if it isn't take care of soon you could lose the whole limb, if not your life. Infection is a terrible thing. He spoke softly, not wanting to scare her, but wanting her to understand the dire situation she was in.[/blockquote]

~~Her harks flickered at his response. [color=dbcfca="Well they were yummy if that helps at all,"
She flashed a wolf grin at him. Looking at him, she wondered why he felt so comforting to her. Instead of feeling vulnerable lying on the ground and being unable to run away in front of such a large, fierce brute, she felt safe. It was a strange sensation; her head telling her that it was logical to be terrified but her heart saying something different. Maybe her father was like this. Or someone else she knew. Perhaps that's why it was comforting.
~~The sour laugh he gave made Marigo wonder if he was lonely. He was probably lonely, if he was saying he was alpha to an empty pack land. That meant there were no wolves, right? So he was lonely, she decided. He needed a friend. Well maybe not a friend, he didn't seem like the kind to want a friend. Definitely someone, though. Maybe a second in command. Her thoughts were interrupted by his growl about the alpha. Her head tilted in curiosity. "So they don't all act like that?" She asked with big eyes. "That's a relief, I thought they were all out to eat me." She laughed happily, of course exaggerating. Though it had certainly felt like it; an entire pack had shunned her.
~~He told her of the infection, and that she could lose a limb or die. She tried to decide what was worse, losing her leg or dying. It frightened her when she realized she didn't care either way. "Oh," She said slowly. "Well... I don't know how to treat it... And I really don't need to lose anything else, I've already lost my memory." She looked up at him. There was no worry in her lyrics, no fear. Whatever would be would be and however something turned out would turn out that way no matter what she did. Either she would die, lose a limb, or live. Three choices for the universe to pick at random. Marigo felt no fear at the thought of losing her limb, or even dying. She had no memories to attach her to this earth anyway, so she simply didn't care.

As she spoke about all the alpha's being out to eat her he couldn't help but grin at her laugh. Yet, he didn't laugh with her. It was true, a lot of alpha's were harsh, and rude. He was just the same way, only in a different way. He couldn't exactly tell you what it was that sparked inside of him that made him a demon, but there was something. He was the son of a demon from the very pits of hell. His sister, Selea, was just the same. Only something had happened to her. She had grown colder somehow. And then, his other sister, Burn Note, had been something of an annoyance to Hellfire ever since she had been born. But, he had still loved her. That is, until he got shunned away from his home because his father believed her to be of better blood. To be a better warrior than she. So, you can imagine his surprise when he joined the Blood Mist, and found out that she had joined the rival pack, and became the beta. Second in command, before the alpha's mate, and the alpha themselves.
He shook the irrelevant thoughts from his mind when she spoke about not knowing how to clean it. He frowned at her, wondering what was wrong with her, and why she couldn't remember anything. He had had his bout with amnesia before, but he had been one of the fortunate ones and remembered everything a few months later. Slowly, he began to speak Your lack of concern for your life, and health concerns me, Marigo. It also concerns me that you can't remember anything... He fell silent once more as he allowed his wings to extend, and catch the wind. He was thinking, and there was no better way for him to think, but to allow the wind to ruffle his feathers a little bit. His gold optics closed for a few moments. It was then that you could really study him without having those bright, scary gold optics staring right back at you. He inhaled deeply, his sides expanding before deflating once more. He wanted to be sure that he would be doing the right thing. Then he looked back at her, and spoke once again. I'm offering you a place to stay; with me, where I will tend the wound. And when you recover, we'll see if we can't restore your memory some how. And once you are better, you have the choice to leave, or stay. I won't stop you, but I would like to help you. His lyrics came out measured, and careful for he didn't want to scare her. He only wanted to help.[/blockquote]

¦¦tripping out, spinning around¦¦
~~Her blue eyes went big as he spoke. "It's not that I don't care for my life and health, it's just... I don't really know how to do anything," She looked up at him, her ears laying back slowly. "I have a feeling I've learned it before but I can't remember. All I know is that a couple weeks ago I woke up on the side of a river with my head hurting. That's all I remember." She sighed slightly, and her wings ruffled themselves. She looked up at him as he stood there. His wings were glorious; she couldn't stop staring at them. They were large and lovely and nearly perfect. She wished her wings would look like that.
~~Without realizing it, Marigo had spread her wings out slightly, letting the soft white, black-speckled feathers to enjoy the breeze. She couldn't fly yet, but she had seen this wolf, Hellfire, do it, so she knew it was possible. When he opened his eyes again, Marigo's harks perked forward, and she watched him with happy eyes. She felt happy to be with another wolf.
~~The offering was great. Marigo tilted her head at him slightly, and then closed her eyes in a smile and chirped, "Okay!" At that she pushed herself up on her front paws, lifting her bad leg off the ground. She heaved herself onto her feet with a grunt, her wings beating at the air wildly to help her along. It took her a moment to regain her footing in the sand, but finally, she tucked her wings against her side. She looked up at the larger wolf and smiled again, happily. "I really hope I don't have to do that every time I need to stand up." She laughed.
