As she drank from the small creek, her eyes were kept on the fields around her, still not trusting the silence and desertion that seemed to hang over the place. She was a loner in these lands, as she had been since she deserted her pack and the thought of suddenly being alone still frightened her, although, she never let anyone know that. But it was always better to be on the safe side. She hated being taken by surprise.
The water was crisp and fresh and it instantly quenched her thirst. She lifted her head, water dripping from the fur beneath her chin as her green eyes scouted behind her. The fur along her spine stood up, the strange creeping chill that she was being watched tickling along her skin. She could definitely say she didn't like this place. She turned from the creek and buried herself deep into the long grass long the bank and crouched down as the sound of rustling caught her attention. She knew she hadn't been alone. Holding her breath, she waited till the weeds on the other bank separated, revealing a doe and her fawn who reached down towards the water for a drink.
Akela let out a sigh, the fur along her spine laying flat, her heart rate coming back down. She had been so jumpy lately and she wasn't sure why. Usually the first words out of her mouth scared others away which gave her no reason to fear being overtaken but the rogue wolves who had snuck into her home pack and ripped her from her newborns still haunted her. Why hadn't no one known they were there? Why hadn't she heard them coming? No, she wasn't fearful of who was out there, she was fearful that her senses had become dull, that she could no longer trust anyone who snuck up on her and that her own traumatic past would overflow all at once, revealing the real wolf locked deep within her mind. There was a reason she didn't come to populated territories.
Stepping from the weeds as soon as the doe and her fawn disappeared, she returned to drinking from the creek, the feeling of being watched gone, allowing her to relax as she drank.

trot, sence, hide... and repeat. reveal yourself, sprint, sidetrack, lunge! grab the back leg and rip it back....success. hold them down and....
the snarl erupted from the black brutes chest as he flattened his stomach against the fawn that he had just caught. fangs glinted back at him in the fearful babes brown orbs and the conan couldn't help but feel good about himself. from a pup to a great warrior...this was what four years of training had led him too. this was what his father wanted him to be..but he wouldnt be what he wanted him to be. cadoc was not one to follows others orders, not even his own sires. he was his own wolf and would do what he damn well pleased...no old man would tell him what he was to do or not. sidetracked from his thoughts, the black beast had not noticed the fearfull fawn trying to kick against his chest. fuckin twit he snarled towards the animal. cadoc opened his jaw and urged his fangs to grow longer. the once normal canines extended into full sabers that would have been seen on a prehistoric creature. once they were done shifting, he lunged for the babes pulsing throat, enjoying the blood that pumped furiously into his thirsty maw. cranium jerked backwards as he shook his prey, making sure that it was dead before he would release it. a quick meal..if he had time he would have taken the doe....but the young are always more tender.
sabers stayed lengthened even after the kill. the black wolf picked up his prey with little effort and dragged it to a more comfortable bedding. as he walked, blood dripped from his victim creating a crimson trail. minx-like pinnacles flicked back and forth as he tried to catch any sounds that might serve as a disturbance. pads created little to no noise which would make him and his meal like a ghost..no twits and pups would know that their was a kill unless they sniffed the airs. but all the damn pups were idiots...cadoc was not worried. muscles bunched underneath him as he brought his muscular down to the ground. laying down atop the pines, cadoc made himself comfortable near the drinking hole before he dragged his meal in front of him. sabers dug into the small abdominal cavity of the fawn, ripping easily through the fur, muscle and internal organs. ripping backwards, cadoc teared at the flesh...gulping it down with the bloodied slurry. content and maw reddened with the deers crimson, the black male let his blue orbs look at the scenery. before the midnight brute could blink, he noticed something near the waters edge, enjoying the liquids. nares sniffed at the air greedily as he tried to decide what he had walked upon. the scent of a female tore at his scences and a smirk crossed his bloodied maw. this would be fun. a little meal, a little tail...life was good for the moment. he just had to wait for the wench to make her way towards him..hopefully she was not one of those that was afriad of males. if she did, cadoc would have to chase after his new prize...and nothing good came from him if he had to chase after what he wanted.

No sooner had the doe and her fawn disappeared then she heard the snarls of another wolf and the panicked cries of the fawn. She lifted her head from the creek, water dripping off her chin and stood high, her green paws and legs half way in the water. Her green ears pointed forward as she witnessed movement not far off and the figure of a male appeared.
Akela had changed a lot since she had lost her pups and run away from her home pack. She was hardened, merciless and a pure ice queen. She didn't take anyone's shit and she definitely didn't let a male treat her like she was weak and innocent. Her teeth would prove she was anything but. It was the only way she could smother the horror and trauma her young life had endured. Her soul was wounded and torn and she didn't have the patience or the desire to mend it. She kept telling herself she'd do it later, that she would give herself the proper amount of grieving time but she never got around to it. She kept putting it off and the more she put it off, the more her soul destroyed itself.
At the sight of the male, her hackles rose and an instinctive growl erupted from deep within her chest. She pulled her ears back and bunched her muscles before she lept over the creek, landing on the other side and shaking her fur free of the drops of water she had produced from pulling her legs from the water. She made her way confidently over towards the male and made herself known as she pushed her way into his space. "Typical male." she snarled. "Not caring about who is near by as long as they can help themselves." She didn't really care that the male had "disturbed her peace" as she was hinting around, she merely wanted to start some trouble. She was itching to let out some bottled up anger.
