a newbie once again

ahhh, the fun of being a new member once again. gotta love that unsure, out-of-place, n00b feeling of joining a new site. luckily, having been roleplaying for about eight years means i'm not new at roleplaying. it makes this a little easier, but i don't think i'll ever learn to like introductions. >_>''

my username is anabasis, which is, for those who don't know, an auto-antonym. that's a word that has two meanings that are opposite each other. anabasis is both a military retreat and a military advance. i personally love the word because it matches my personality. i can either be shy and pathetic around people i don't know, happy to curl up in the emo-corner of unsocial-ness or i can snap and maul some faces.

i like roleplaying, sketching, making manips, writing fanfictions, horseback riding, hiking in warm weather, and hibernating when i'm not doing any of the former. my favorite foods are ramen, popcorn, boiled peanuts, fried anything, oreos, steak, and sunflower seeds. i hate tomatoes, repetitive noises, your mom, and hot tea. i'm a southern belle, born and raised, and a proud patriot.

did i leave anything out? oh, i'm planning to go into some occupation that deals with either history or literature. not really sure at the moment. still figuring things out, yanno?

also, i have a dream of living off-grid with my own farm and some horses.

finally, if you see any terrible fails when it comes to codes or spelling, i blame my ipad. i'm still getting used to typing on this thing since my laptop decided to implode about twenty minutes after i joined this site. using an ipad for proboards? a challenge, i assure you.

so, did i satisfy the curiosity none of you had?!

"what a witch." anyway~ gumbo is more a louisianna/florida/alabama thing, though it's popular all throughout the southeast. i personally can only tell you how to make grits, pecan pie, homemade cornbread biscits, and boiled peanuts. my diet and culinary skills are on parr with your average college student (meaning none). if you actually do need a recipe, i can ask a couple of my family members for a good one. having redneck family members is only good when it's food and partying xD

Hmm... A southern budd xD I'm a north western gal myself xD I even go seasonally between two different states up here -pulls on backpack- hmm... It seems the only recipies my family is good for are very popular with us and if you looked em up you would never find them xD I live on toast cause ma tries to make me cook for myself but ovens scare me -_-
